The function of the Singeing Machine

A fabric woven by a textile mill has a lot of fluff on the surface of the grey fabric and between the warp and weft yarns. The existence of these fluff will cause the following problems in the process of printing and dyeing:

  1. Fabric is easy to dust and stain, affecting smooth and beautiful

  2. When dyeing, the fluff is easy to stick to the roller, so that the color is not uniform

  3. The quality of processing will be affected by the fluff falling into the dye solution or slurry

  4. It is difficult to print clear patterns, especially fine patterns, due to the presence of fluff on the fabric

  5. The existence of fluff on the polyester / cotton blended fabric will increase pilling by friction while wearing, and the cool style will also be affected

Therefore, in addition to flannelette and some special textiles, general cotton, hemp, chemical fiber and blended fabrics must be fluffy before printing and dyeing. The method is to burn the fabric through the flame or through the surface of the hot metal plate at a fast speed, so as to remove the long and short fluff from the surface of the fabric and even the warp and weft holes, without causing the fabric to be burned. This process is called singeing.
